The Eastern Ontario Health Unit posted 21 new confirmed COVID-19 cases Wednesday, with no decrease in the number of active cases.
Seven of the new cases are in Clarence Rockland, one new case was reported in Russell.
It was a year ago this week the EOHU region saw the first COVID-19 related fatality, a resident at the Pinecrest long-term care home in Plantagenet.
The EOHU reported an additional 3,174 vaccines had been administered within the region since Tuesday’s update, for a total of 67,653.
The health unit will provide another update this afternoon
More people can book COVID-19 vaccine appointments today.
People aged 50 and older and those with high-risk health conditions are now eligible to make appointments.
Also able to book a shot starting today are workers in education, child-care, food and manufacturing sectors.
