Roger Séguin Reception Centre Is Closer At Securing Funding

Jun 3, 2021 | 6:34 AM

The non-profit organization that owns and operates the Roger Séguin Reception Centre, a long-term care facility in Clarence Creek is another step closer to possibly securing funding from the United Counties.

Last week the mayors authorized a long-term grant for Roger Seguin Reception Centre.  County staff will now finalize the details of the financial assistance proposal and bring a report back to the Mayors later this month.

The Roger Seguin Reception Centre, wants an annual grant from the Counties to help fund the $ 49 million cost of a new, larger center that meets current provincial building code standards for long-term care facilities.

In addition to its own fundraising campaign Clarence Creek long term car home will also seek funding from the provincial and federal governments.

The nonprofit is also planning to apply for a loan from Infrastructure Ontario for the project.

Clarence Rockland Mayor Guy Desjardins says we cannot afford to lose the Roger Seguin Reception Centre, adding I think we can make a deal here.
