The non-profit organization that operates the Roger Séguin Reception Center a retirement home, will receive much-needed help to finance the construction of a new, larger and better facility.
County council this week unanimously approved a 12.5 million dollar grant to be paid out in annual payments of 500 thousand dollars over 25 years.
Several conditions are attached to the funding including that CARS obtain confirmation of a loan from Infrastructure Ontario as well as a development agreement with the Ministry of Long-Term Care.
The total cost of the project is estimated to be $49 million dollars.
