Data Correction Led To Removal Of Resolved Cases

Jun 28, 2021 | 5:56 AM

A minor data correction in the Eastern Ontario Health Unit COVID-19 case information led to the removal of seven resolved cases from the tally on Friday.

These corrections have been occurring more frequently this month, ever since a large one removed 123 cases from the region’s total on June 8.

Four resolved COVID-19 cases were removed from the tally in Russell, and one from each of the counts for Hawkesbury, The Nation, and North Dundas.

The health unit added another 656 vaccinations to its count from Thursday to Friday, reaching 167,515 vaccines administered within the region since Jan. 12.

At two doses per person and 180,000 eligible people, that represents 46.53 per cent of the immunization campaign’s goal.

The health unit’s next scheduled briefing is set for Monday afternoon.
