The Warden of the United Counties of Prescott Russell and Mayor of Alfred Plantagenet Stéphane Sarrazin has his eye on Queens Park.
Sarrazin wants to represent the progressive conservative party in the next provincial election scheduled for June of next year.
The nomination is to be held tonight.
Sarrazin says elected officials in the region have had a lot of discussion about the lack of representation at Queen’s Park and the fact that there has been little action in the last term. He says the main issues are always the same: obtaining the Internet network in rural areas, the widening of Route 174, and affordable housing.
If nominated, he will campaign for election against incumbent and now liberal MPP Amanda Simard.
