A new study by the University of Michigan reveals that eating a single hot dog decreases one’s life expectancy by 36 minutes. The Washington Post estimates that Joey Chestnut has eaten an average of 1,200 hot dogs a year for the past 16 years. That’s a total of 19,200 hot dogs, which equates to a decreased life expectancy of one year and 115 days.
Chestnut tweeted; “Interesting, I might need to eat more nuts to get time back. Or… Researchers at University of Michigan could be working for Russia.”
