It’s no bull — it turns out cows can be potty trained even faster than some toddlers.
What started with a half-joking question on a New Zealand radio talk show about livestock waste led to a serious study published today in the journal Current Biology.
Researchers using sweet treats coaxed cows to push through a gate and urinate in a special pen called a “MooLoo” in just 15 days.
A single cow can produce 30 litres of urine per day, which causes environmental issues with acid rain and other problems.
The biggest bovine environmental problem is the global-warming-causing methane gas they emit in belches and flatulence, but researchers say cows can’t be trained not to belch or fart because they’d blow up.
