Two bridges in the Prescott-Russell region may be closed next year for structural improvements. Public Works Director Jérémie Bouchard recommends rehabilitation work on the Belanger Bridge and Cobbs Lake Bridge in the 2022.
He noted that both bridges are in “decent condition” and do not pose a risk for current traffic use but added that dealing with structural improvement needs now would be cheaper than having to replace the bridges altogether in future.
The estimated cost for repairs to the Belanger Bridge on County Road 8 between Clarence-Rockland and The Nation Municipality, is 3.5 million dollas.
Repair costs for the Cobbs Bridge in Bourget is 1.9 million dollars.
The recommendations now got to county council for their approval.
