Prunes Prevent Holiday Weight Gain

Dec 14, 2021 | 5:39 AM

A new study by the University of Liverpool reveals that eating prunes during the holidays may prevent a large weight gain. Researchers had study participants eat prunes over a 12-week period. They found that prune eaters consumed fewer calories and lost weight compared to those participants, who didn’t eat prunes.

Professor Jason Halford says, “These studies demonstrate that dried fruit can both produce satiety and be incorporated into the diet during weight management. These are the first data to demonstrate both weight loss and no negative side effects when consuming prunes as part of a weight management diet.”
