Russell County OPP and the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital have formally announced the creation of a Mobile Crisis Response Team.
This is a team where police and their respective health partners respond together to support individuals experiencing a mental health and/or addiction-related crisis where police are called to assist.
Support also continues after the call for service and referrals are made to applicable agencies in Prescott-Russell.
Both police and the hospital say over the last few years, the partnership has been evolving and enhanced to include mental health experts riding along with or co-responding with police.
