OPP Lay Impaired Charges On The Trails

 Members of the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a motorist for impaired driving.

On January 21, 2023, shortly after 2:30 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint on a local snowmobile trail in Embrun.

During the investigation, the officer arrested and transported the driver to detachment for further testing.

Marek HERCUN, age 47, from Embrun, was charged under the Criminal Code (CC) with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) – CC 320.14(1)(b)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol – CC 320.14(1)(a)

The motorist received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and the vehicle was also impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal at a later date.
