Drug Trafficking Charges – Cheney

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) assisted by the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and in conjunction with the Service de Police de Repentigny have charged an individual following the execution of a search warrant in Cheney.

On January 23, 2023, shortly after 11:30 p.m., OCEB and CSCU executed a search warrant at a residence on Grand Tronc Street as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

During the investigation, an individual was arrested, and the warrant resulted in the seizure of suspected cocaine, with an approximate value of over $105,000, a large amount of cash, an imitation firearm and other items typically associated with drug trafficking.

Kevin CUDJOE, age 36, from Cheney, was charged under the Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with:

  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Ca nada CC 354(1)(a)
  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose CC 88
  • Traffic in Schedule I substance – Cocaine CDSA 5(1)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine CDSA 5(2)

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
