Following a recent incident in the municipality, the City of Clarence-Rockland Fire Department is reminding residents of the importance of keeping carbon monoxide alarms functional.
Fire Chief Mario Villeneuve says carbon monoxide is colourless, odourless and tasteless. It is known as the silent killer for a reason.
Chief Villeneuve added, if your carbon monoxide alarm goes off, never assume it’s a false alarm and unplug it. Call 9-1-1 immediately, no matter what time of day or night.
