The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made two arrests following a barricaded persons incident in the Town of Alfred.
On Wednesday September 27, 2023, officers responded to a call on St-Philippe Street in the Town of Alfred, where two people had barricaded themselves in a residence. The OPP and, Emergency Response Team (ERT) attended the scene.
Two residents, from the Town of Alfred, were safely arrested and both charged with Arson, Uttering Threats, Assault Police wi th a weapon and Mischief, contrary to the Criminal Code.
There were no injuries sustained and no threat to public safety. There was a significant police presence in the area at the time.
