On Thursday, June 27, 2024, the Valoris Foundation of Prescott-Russell
held its annual bursary ceremony. During the event, the Valoris Foundation awarded no less than 41 scholarships to local youth pursuing post-secondary education. The total amount offered was a record $32,000!
Accompanied by their families and friends, the recipients were in the spotlight that evening at the ceremony. All recipients were graduates from various high schools across Prescott-Russell, who distinguished themselves by demonstrating outstanding determination and community leadership.
Valoris Foundation scholarships encourage young people to take their place in society while helping them reach their full potential. They support them by facilitating the important changes needed for a better future, and by eliminating the financial worries associated with post-secondary education.
These scholarships are designed to reward those who stand out for their inclusion, perseverance, compassion and resilience. Here is the breakdown of this year’s scholarships:
• 18 Future Social Worker Scholarships ($1,000 to all 12 Prescott-Russell high schools and the
Centre d’éducation et de formation de l’Est ontarien)
• 13 Encouragement Scholarships
• 8 Youth Community Leadership Scholarships
• 1 Raymond Lemay Scholarship
• 1 Dwight Proudfoot Memorial Scholarship
“It’s by helping people from the community and from Valoris that we ensure a continuation of our social inclusion programs. This year’s cohort stands out for the enormous potential of its graduates, and for their stories of resilience and perseverance. The future of our community is assured!” says Jean Lalonde, Manager Of The Valoris Foundation.
