The Ontario government is investing more than $769,000 in wastewater infrastructure in the Municipality of Champlain. This funding, provided through the Enabling Housing Water Systems Fund, will support the construction of approximately 849 new housing units in the Village of L’Orignal. The Member of Parliament for Glengarry–Prescott–Russell, Stéphane Sarrazin, says this support will strengthen the future of families in the region. For his part, the mayor of Champlain, points out that the sewer rehabilitation work will reduce water infiltration, extend the life of infrastructure dating from the 1970s The work will also avoid costly excavations in the heart of the village and create the capacity needed to accommodate residential growth.
