The Council of the United Counties of SDG has adopted a by-law formalizing an increase in the remuneration of elected officials. The president will see his salary increase by 25% to $52,500, while that of advisers climbs by 41% to $22,000. These amounts are in addition to the salaries they already receive as mayors or deputy mayors of their respective municipalities. This decision aims to reduce the wage gap with elected officials in other municipalities in Eastern Ontario.
