The mayor of Russell, Mike Tarnowski, has proposed extending the term of the Warden of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell to two years in order to promote strategic planning and continuity. Currently, the president can only sit for one year at a time.
The idea, supported by Clarence-Rockland Mayor Mario Zanth, will be debated and voted on at the Oct. 29 council meeting.
