Another $500,000 Needed To Complete Hawkesbury’s New Municipal Garage

The Town of Hawkesbury must inject an additional $500,000 to complete the construction of its new municipal garage, the total cost of which will reach $10.7 million.

About $455,000 in overruns are attributed to design errors by EXP Services, mainly on the electrical part. Despite the frustrations expressed by councillor Yves Paquette, the administration, including Director of Public Works Jonathan Wilson and Treasurer Philippe Timbers, considers the overrun reasonable.

The building is expected to be ready on November 1.
