The new Member of Parliament for Prescott–Russell–Cumberland, Giovanna Mingarelli, inaugurated her constituency office in Hawkesbury, five months after her election. She succeeds Francis Drouin, who did not stand for re-election. Ms. Mingarelli has already received thousands of applications related to immigration, employment and social services, and has participated in several meetings with Francophone and agricultural groups in the region. The office, located on Main Street, will serve as a point of contact for local citizens and businesses.
