A residence was completely destroyed by a fire Tuesday night west of Vankleek Hill on Concession 2 Caledonia Road. The Nation Fire Department, supported by Vankleek Hill Fire Department, responded at approximately 10:30 p.m. The fire required a defensive approach and was completely brought under control in the early morning using an excavator. No injuries were reported, but pets perished. The cause remains unknown and not suspected.
