The Township of Champlain Council has rejected a resolution to review the Ontario Provincial Police service structure in Prescott-Russell. The proposal, initiated by Clarence-Rockland, suggested a feasibility study to merge the two police forces of Russell and Hawkesbury under a regional administration of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell. Champlain considers the current system adequate and raises too many unknowns.
