The Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three individuals in relation to recovered stolen vehicles.
On Wednesday February 4, 2026, at approximately 11:15 a.m., officers received information from a vehicle tracking system regarding a stolen Honda CR‑V travelling eastbound on Highway 401 near Ingleside. While responding, officers also observed a second stolen Honda CR‑V in the same area.
Officers began gathering information to deploy alternate measures to safely stop the first suspect vehicle. One of the vehicles entered a private commercial lot, on County Road 2, where officers arrested the driver. During the arrest, the suspect vehicle made minor contact with a police vehicle and officers successfully arrested the occupant.
The second stolen vehicle was located a short time later at the end of a dead‑end road. Officers boxed in the vehicle and arrested the occupants.
Both vehicles were later confirmed to have been stolen from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
A 17‑year‑old male from Ajax is charged with:
- Trafficking in stolen goods over $5,000,
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of break‑in instruments,
- Flight from police
- Theft of a motor vehicle.
Jayden Cann, 19-year-old of Barrie, faces similar charges, including:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Dangerous driving
- Resisting arrest
- Trafficking in stolen goods
- Theft of a motor vehicle.
