The Ontario government is investing $3.3 million in the rehabilitation of The Nation Municipality’s water infrastructure, announced by MPP Stéphane Sarrazin and Mayor Francis Brière. The funding, from the Water Health and Safety Stream, will replace two aging filter feeders at the Limoges treatment plant, which pose safety and operational risks.

The project, estimated at $4.8 million, will modernize the facility with automated stainless steel equipment, improving reliability, safety and monitoring, for an expected lifespan of approximately 25 years.

City officials emphasize that this support reduces the financial impact on residents while ensuring infrastructure that is sustainable and meets provincial standards.
