The Municipality of Alfred and Plantagenet has not received any proposal to privatize the operation of the Lefaivre marina in 2026. The council therefore decided to continue municipal operations for another season and to hire a part-time manager and students to operate the gas pumps. Salaries are provided for in the 2026 budget. The marina will be open 70 hours a week in high season. Some advisors are wondering about the long-term future and want better profitability, especially with regard to fuel sales.
