People around the Navan area are up in arms over plans to expand the local landfill. Waste Connections, the company behind it, says the expansion won’t make things worse than they already are and that it actually helps local jobs and eases pressure on other landfills.
But residents aren’t buying it. They’re worried about more trucks on the road, louder noise, bad smells, and safety issues. Many feel betrayed because back in 2008, they were told the landfill would eventually close. Now, with this expansion, it feels like that promise is being ignored.
