François Masse, a Hawkesbury resident and retired educator, won the $55 million jackpot in the January 9 Lotto Max draw.  He found out about his win when he checked his ticket on the OLG app, and the “Big Winner” message froze him in place.

In shock, he walked into her house for several minutes before contacting OLG for instructions.

He waited nearly three hours before breaking the news to his family, taking a moment to reflect on the impact of the win.

The priority, organize a family trip to celebrate. He also dreams of attending Formula 1 races and visiting NFL stadiums.  He wants to surround himself with good advisors before making major decisions.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Asselin grocery store on Cameron Street in Hawkesbury.
