(Listen To The Audio) Alto High Speed Train Protest

A demonstration against the Alto high-speed rail project took place yesterday in Chute-à-Blondeau, where citizens, farmers and elected officials denounced the possible impacts on rural communities and farmland. The participants, accompanied by tractors, walked from the CàB Café to the community centre. Elected officials, including the mayors of East Hawkesbury and Saint-André-d’Argenteuil, have expressed their concerns about expropriations, local traffic and emergency services.
