Council for the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry is preparing a formal communication to Alto regarding the high-speed rail project. Elected officials express concerns, particularly about the expropriation of agricultural land, the environmental impacts and the economic effects if certain communities are bypassed. Issues related to emergency services are also raised. The proposed route could affect north of North Glengarry. The issue will also be discussed at the Eastern Ontario Prefects’ Caucus.
