The municipalities of Champlain and Alfred-Plantagenet will replace the Blue Corner culvert, which is considered to be in poor condition and heavily corroded. The project, valued at $800,000, will be funded in equal parts. Inspections in 2024 and 2025 confirmed the urgency of the work for safety reasons. The $56,000 engineering contract was awarded to Lascelle Engineering in order to meet tight deadlines.
