With the cost of fuel up, coupled with the cost of groceries, many families across the region are dealing with food insecurity. Families, regardless of their income, are also finding different outlets to purchase produce that is fresh, and affordable.
The food sharing program Arks Harvest, with weekly locations in Cornwall, Vankleek Hill, and Hawkesbury has been an increase in shoppers.
This non profit organization, run by volunteers, has been growing over the past six years, and the demand for affordable food has spiked.
