Hydro 2000 wants to purchase the building it leases from Alfred to establish its head office and operations centre on a long-term basis. The municipal company is asking for the support of the Alfred-Plantagenet council to take out a loan of $341,000 on a purchase price of $445,000. According to management, the purchase would ensure the stability of services without affecting the dividends paid to the municipality. Additional rental income would also help pay off the mortgage.
