North Glengarry Council has deferred its decision on a telecommunications tower in Alexandria. The proposed 40-metre facility on Main Street North is designed to improve cellular and data coverage in the area. Although no objections were submitted during the public consultation, elected officials asked for more information, particularly on the health risks due to exposure to radio frequencies. The council therefore unanimously chose to delay official support for the project pending clarification from the manufacturer.
