The Member Of Parliament for Prescott-Russell-Cumberland, Giovanna Mingarelli, says she has multiplied meetings with residents, farmers, business people and municipal officials about the Alto high-speed rail project. She says she wants to ensure that local concerns are heard, particularly on the impacts on homeowners, families and farmland. Mingarelli is opposed to large-scale expropriation and is asking that the routes with the least impact be fully studied. Alto will publish a report summarizing its public consultation in June.
