Ronald McDonald House Ottawa has more than doubled its capacity, increasing from 14 to 36 rooms. The expansion eliminates the waiting list and will allow the organization to support approximately 1,300 families each year, compared to 500 previously.
The organization provides housing for families of seriously ill children who must travel to Ottawa for medical care. The distance requirement has also been reduced from 80 kilometres to 60 kilometres. The official opening will take place on July 13.
