Giant “NO ALTO” and “NON AU TGV” letters have been installed along Dandy Road where the Prescott and Russell Recreational Trail crosses, along with signs marking the proposed width of the rail corridor. The final route has not yet been chosen, but organizers hope the display encourages people to share photos on social media as opposition to the project continues.
Prescott-Russell-Cumberland MP Giovanna Mingarelli met with local farmers and landowners to hear concerns about the project, including the possibility of land expropriation, and says those concerns will be passed along to Alto and the federal Transport Minister.
