A serious accident took place yesterday afternoon on Highway 417 between Route 138 and Exit 66, toward Ottawa, closing the highway for several hours.
According to a video of the accident circulated on social networks, a driver lost control of his vehicle before ending up on the shoulder. The victim with serious injuries was taken to hospital by helicopter after the intervention of several police cars and fire trucks.
The highway was re-opened to traffic around 7:00pm Tuesday evening.
