Members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a single-vehicle collision near Cornwall that has resulted in a fatality.
On Sunday, July 19, 2026, just before 3:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to reports of a passenger vehicle rollover into the center median of Highway 401, east of Boundary Road in South Glengarry. South Glengarry Fire Services and Cornwall SDG Paramedic Services also responded to the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old male from Clarence-Rockland, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two passengers from the vehicle were transported to hospital with minor injuries reported.
Highway 401 remains closed westbound and eastbound between Boundary Road and County Road 27, while an OPP Technical Collision Investigator and Reconstructionist assist with the investigation.
