The Vankleek Hill Agricultural Society is warning the public about potential scams involving the upcoming 2026 Vankleek Hill Fair, after reports of fake vendor and ticket-related offers circulating online.
The Society says someone has been impersonating a representative of the Vankleek Hill Agricultural Society and contacting local business owners through social media, inviting them to apply as vendors for this year’s fair, which runs August 13 to 16.
Officials stress that the individual behind these messages is not affiliated with the Vankleek Hill Agricultural Society and is not authorized to accept vendor applications, payments, or personal information on behalf of the fair.
The Society is reminding businesses and members of the public to be cautious when receiving unsolicited messages online. They are asking people not to provide any personal details, send money, or engage with the scammer.
Anyone who receives a suspicious message is encouraged to report the account or contact the police.
The Vankleek Hill Agricultural Society says official vendor information and ticket details will only be shared through its verified channels.
