The Hawkesbury detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid several impaired driving-related charges following two separate incidents.
On Friday, August 14, 2026, shortly after 12:30 a.m., OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint in Champlain Township. During the investigation, an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was used. The driver failed the test and was transported to the detachment for further testing.
Following the investigation, Francis LEBLANC, 37, of Champlain Township, was charged with the following offences:
Driving with a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit (80 mg or more)
Driving while impaired by a combination of alcohol and drugs
Dangerous driving
The driver received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
On Friday, August 14, 2026, shortly after 3:00 a.m., OPP officers stopped a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act violation on Du Quai Avenue in Alfred-Plantagenet Township. During the investigation, an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was used. The driver failed the test and was transported to the detachment for further testing. Following the investigation, Anthony Longo, 49, of the Township of Alfred-Plantagenet, was charged with the following offences:
Driving with a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit (80 mg or more)
Driving while impaired by the combined effect of alcohol and drugs
The driver received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
