Lachute Resident Charged With Impaired Following Accident In Hawkesbury

Members of the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested one person for impaired driving related charges.

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, at approximately 05:50 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle collision in the town of Hawkesbury.

As a result of the investigation, Camille SHAMASH, a 64-year-old female from Lachute, Quebec has been charged with the following offences.

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·     Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The motorist received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
