A 17-year-old from Embrun is hoping the community can help him take one big step closer to becoming Stan Lee’s next Super Kid.
Lukas Gregoire is currently competing in the 2026 Stan Lee’s Super Kid Competition, and he’s now in the final round of the qualifiers. Lukas is currently sitting in third place in his group, and he needs more votes to move into first and advance to the quarterfinals.
Voting in the current round ends Thursday, October 22nd at 10 p.m. Eastern.
The competition is online, and voting is free. Donations go to the Stan Lee Foundation, which promotes literacy among children through fun literature, including comics.
If Lukas makes it all the way through the competition, the grand prize includes a starring role in a Stan Lee universe comic book, $25,000 and four VIP tickets to L.A. Comic Con in 2027.
For Lukas, this is about much more than winning a competition.
Lukas is an autistic special-needs student at Russell High School. He was also born with a heart defect and underwent open-heart surgery when he was just six months old.
His family says every day with Lukas is a gift, and becoming Stan Lee’s next Super Kid would give him an opportunity to share the incredible imagination and creativity that are such a big part of who he is.
Lukas loves superheroes, especially Spider-Man and Superman, and he’s also a big fan of Superman’s dog, Krypto. He spends much of his time creating elaborate imaginary stories involving some of his favourite characters, and he has a remarkable ability to remember and share even the smallest details about his favourite movies.
His family says Lukas is an everyday hero to them because he never lets being autistic stop him from doing the things he wants to do. He also loves to sing — and apparently, he’s pretty good at it.
You can vote for Lukas for free at least once a day by visiting his competition page:
