The Chute-à-Blondeau baseball field will be renamed “East Hawkesbury Memorial Field” in tribute to the township’s veterans, The initiative of David Krawczyk, manager of the East Hawkesbury Herons, provides for the installation of a sign bearing the names of 26 soldiers who died as a result of the two world wars, as well as a dozen airmen who died during training in Saint-Eugène. The municipal council supported the name change and the unveiling is scheduled for the spring of 2027.
