The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a second person in connection with the assault investigation.
On July 25 2021 at 8:45 p.m., officers responded to an assault in progress on Pitch Off Road in the Town of Plantagenet, Ontario, where a 73 year old man was in an altercation with three individuals on dirt bikes and an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV).
Patrick Ethier, 29 years old from Alfred-Plantagenet, Ontario, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Dangerous operation of a vehicle – section 320.13(1)
- Assault causing bodily harm – section 267(b)
The accused will be appearing at the Ontario Court of Justice on July 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
Joshua Dasilva, 20 years old also from Alfred-Plantagenet, Ontario was arrested earlier in the week and charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Assault with a weapon – section 267(a)
- Assault – section 266
- Assault causing bodily harm – section 26 7(b)
