Do you have a friend, co-worker, maybe even your boss who has a tendency to send quick, short, to the point rude e-mails? They are lacking from ZZZs.
A recent study by West Texas A&M University reveals that sending rude e-mails is often caused by a lack of sleep. Professor Trevor Watkins studied 131 co-workers before concluding that people often engage in “cyber incivility” after failing to get a good night’s rest.
Professor Watkins says, “Employees can resist being uncivil with one another by exerting self-control, and they are more likely to accomplish that when they are fully rested. The implication is that our work and non-work lives are more connected than we sometimes think.”
