The City of Clarence-Rockland says there is no evidence that personal data was accessed or stolen following the cyber breach that occurred on Monday October 25.
The city said the information was encrypted which makes it unusable.
City operations continue and municipal employees now have access to their emails.
If you attempted to contact the city in the last week via email and have not received a response, the city recommends you resend your email.
The city also said the processing of any pre-authorized payments will be delayed, however, no late penalties will be applied.
Clarence Rockland has retained a cyber forensics firm that has been retained to work with the municipality.
