A Hawkesbury doctor who was charged with first-degree murder in the death of a patient is facing three new murder charges.
In March of 2021, 35 year old Brian Nadler was charged in connection with the death of 89-year-old Albert Poindinger, of Pointe-Claire, Que. At the time police said they were investigating multiple suspicious deaths at the hospital, but never revealed how many and indicated the investigation would be lengthy. In a media release issued today OPP say Nadler has now been charged with three additional counts of first-degree murder.
Police say the charges stem from the deaths of 80 year old Claire Briere of Rigaud, Que.; 79 year old Lorraine Lalande of Hawkesbury, Ont.; and 93 year old Judith Lungulescu of East Hawkesbury Township.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
Nadler’s lawyer said upon the initial charge that his client maintains his innocence.
The Hawkesbury and District General Hospital says it is fully collaborating with the OPP investigation and legal proceedings being initiated. All services and programs remain fully operational and HGH assures the local population that patient care is delivered in a safe, secure and quality-oriented hospital environment.
