The Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) assisted the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Forensic Identification Services (FIS) with the execution of a search warrant at a residence in The Nation Township on September 26, 2022.
As a result of the search warrant, investigators seized six vehicles, a boat and stolen property. The total value of the stolen property is over $600,000.
The following three individuals were charged:
Anjelani MUSAKA, age 34, from Ottawa, was charged with:
- Altering/Destroying/Removing a vehicle identification number CC 353.1 (two counts)
- Use, deals, acts on forged documents CC 368(1)(a)
- Obstruct Peace Officer CC 129(a)
- Trafficking in Stolen Goods over $5,000 (incl. possession with intent to traffic) CC 355.5(a) (six counts)
- Possession Property obtained by Crime Over $5,000 CC 35 5(a) (six counts)
Daniel PARISIEN, age 40, from The Nation Township, was charged with:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada CC 354(1)(a)
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 CC 355(a) (five counts)
Soku SOKU OKITALONGO, age 31, from Ottawa, was charged with:
- Altering/Destroying/Removing a vehicle identification number CC 353.1 (two counts)
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 CC 355(b) (two counts)
- Trafficking in Stolen Goods over $5,000 (incl. possession with intent to traffic) CC 355.5(a) (six counts)
- Possession Break in Instruments CC 351(1)
- Use, deals, acts on forged documents CC 368(1)(a)
- Cause or attempt to use a forged document CC 368(1)(b)
- Possession Property obtained by Crime Over $5,000 CC 355(a) (six counts)
The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal at a later date.
