The date for the 2nd Annual Hot Country 92.5 Radiothon For The Rockland Help Center is set for Saturday November 4 from 9:00am-5:00pm at a new location, Food Basics along County Road 17.
Food Basics Rockland has been an ongoing supporter of the center for many years and reached out to find out how they could help further
During this, now annual, event, listeners will be invited to call in to make a donation, donate on line, or make a donation on site while grocery shopping at Food Basics. Those that give back on site will have a chance to win instant prizes provided by local businesses, and some “surprise experiences”, said organizer and Promotions Coordinator, Derrick Scott.
“Last year, we were so impressed with local businesses that provided gift certificates without any question.” said Scott.
The requests for help from local residents has grown at the center as the cost of groceries and living has climbed considerably since last year, and is not expected to drop in the near future.

“We are looking for prize donations, including a corporate sponsor, above and beyond what Food Basics is offering the center and the event. We always knew that Food Basics was about community, and their “reaching out” has proven that ten folds.”
Last year’s first ever event raised $12,000 and hundreds of pounds of food for those in need in our community.
