The Kidney Foundation Charity Steak night this past Friday evening at the Windsor Tavern in Vankleek Hill was a success, according to organizer, Don Dubois. The event made $2600.00 net for the Kidney Foundation Of The Canada.
The evening also included over $3,000 in raffle prizes awarded throughout the evening, including an incredible performance by the band 50 Proof.
Dubois, is no stranger to creating fundraisers and charities in the area. Over the last fifteen years, he estimates that he has helped raise $75,000 for countless charities and causes including Make A Wish Foundation, The Cat Rescue in Vankleek Hill, The Food Bank in Vankleek Hill, Shriners Hospital, and a Ukraine fundraiser to help the elderly escape their war torn area.
He credits his success to strong partnerships with area businesses sponsoring the fundraisers, including through prize donations.
BIG-FM, and its sister station GO-FM were proud sponsors.
